Biotechnology of the Future: Exploring New Horizons in Health and Innovation
On October 22nd, the Regional Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Szczecin hosted the "Biotechnology of the Future: Development Paths with Horizon Europe" conference, an event highlighting advancements in health and biotechnology through international collaboration. Prof. Karolina Skonieczna-Żydecka, from the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, presented the IMMEDIATE project, a part of the EU initiative to explore biomarkers for chronic inflammation risk and resilience.
Prof. Skonieczna-Żydecka discussed the development of mobile health management applications and the importance of collaboration between science and business to accelerate innovation. IMMEDIATE project partner SANPROBI was also a part of the conference. In the IMMEDIATE project, SANPROBI is analysing microbiome, metabolome, immunome, and gut barrier function to understand the impact of stress and supplementation with Akkermansia muciniphila, a novel probiotic.
Prof. Skonieczna-Żydecka emphasised that these advancements will be crucial for the future of health management, bringing science and everyday life closer together in an increasingly biotechnology-driven world.
